SQL 2005 tools on Windows 2008 R2 server

I am trying to install the SQL 2005 tools on a new Windows 2008 R2 server. I get the error error 193 installing .net framework 2.0 and then the install hangs. If I try to install .net 2.0 from the redist. file - it tells me that it is already installed. How can I get the SQL 2005 tools installed on my new 2008 R2 server?
