How to Screen Text Files

I have many text files and need to know that only regular characters are in them.
The character é is not good for my program.  Only characters that exist on the keyboard.
I can manually replace the character once located, but do not wish to read through two hundred files.  All the text files are in the same folder.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You're going to have to read each file since that's the only way to know what's in them. If you read them into a string you can then change whatever characters you need to change by doing something like'   Dim
    Dim strContents As String

    Open "c:\test.txt" For Input As #1
    strContents = Input$(LOF(1), #1)
    Close #1

And then

    strContents = Replace(strContents,"é", "e") ' repeat for each 'bad' character.
