Microsoft Word Merge Document - Merged Date Field

I have a MS Office 2007 Word document that is used as a master to create mail merge letters.

The date field in the master MS Word document uses {CREATEDATE\@"MMMM d,yyyy"} for the date.  After a mail merge is run using the master MS Word document, the resulting letters pick up the date the master MS Word document was created, not that day's date.

I need the resulting letters to pick up that day's date (the date the mail merge is run, not the date the master document was created).  The resulting letters also need to retain that day's date (the date will not change if the resulting letters are opened 3 months later).

Your help is appreciated.  Thank you.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think the easiest way would be to provide the date in the datasource and use a merge field

Thank you for your suggestion, but the data source is a database table, can not add the date there.

You may close this.  This is a limitation in Word.
