"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you certain named is running?  Is it listening on the interface that is either your public IP or the interface for your public NAT'd IP?  Which OS are you running?  What does the rest of your named.conf have?  If you have includes you can run 'named-checkconf -p' to get a conf output with all includes.
Also is your firewall open for incoming queries via port 53 from the internet?

Basically we need much more info to accurately answer your question.
