Disk corrupted after LUN provision

Now I can see found.000 folder, and some folders are completely missing.  Is it possible my $MFT table got corrupted?  Storage is on SAN.
Would it be possible to restore? Getting in touch with MS now and a SAN vendor.

Any advice? Curious about the MFT table.  If it's corrupted, would I be able to see the drive and browse it?

Thanks.

"after LUN provision" in the title implies to me at least that you've only just provisioned the LUN, in which case we need to know more about how the data got onto the LUN, was it previously attached to another machine or did you create it and then copy the data to it?

Okay we started the scanning (non-intrusive) of the corrupted volume to read the content of the MFT table and work towards the recovering of the missing files.  There are 100s mil records to scan prior moving to the second stage.

It was previously attached to another machine.  So normally I did that before.  But this time I went into the drive and see foloders corrupted and missing.
I am running a File Recovery now but don't have much hope for it.  Ran it overnight and still don't see any recovered data showed up.

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

Shouldn't normally be a problem transfering from one machine to another so long as it wasn't attached to both at the same time in which case it would get corrupted very quickly.

Okay got it. Not sure why it happened.

So as for right now I am trying to recover data and don't seem to be very sucessfull.

Question, if MFT corrupted.  Would I be able to see the disk? Or browse into it?

You couldn't access the data on the disk with a corrupt MFT using Windows but something like getdataback may be able to read it - http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm. Worth a try since the free version will show what can be recovered.

OKay, so looks like this is not a MFT corrupted but just a data on drive.  We are running a File Recovery but unlikely it will do the job..

Looks like that GetDataBack is not free...
GetDataBack for NTFS: $79 USD (Free demo) - Buy Now
GetDataBack for FAT: $69 USD (Free demo) - Buy Now

ertainly it's not free to recover data, only free to try to see what it can find. It's trying to process the MFT when you get the error aboe so I would ignore all for that and see what it finds on a disk scan.

It doesn't go any further and exists right there.
