Joomla Links Not Working

I have a joomla site (intranet)  with a menu item that displays a featured articles page.

The page displayes fine, however, if i click on the title of the article I get a blank page in chrome and a 500 error in ie.  I thought at first that all of the articles did this.  However, if i create a menu item specifcially for one of featured articles.  It works from the page as well as the menu.

My search module results have the same issue.

I cannot reaslistcally create a menu item for every article that is posted on the featured page.

How can I get the links to work?

I am using Joomla 1.7 with an artiseer template (i have tried the built in templates also)

THANKS!

I also have the same problem if I click read more..
Try to Disable  all SEF option from Global Configuration and check whether links work correctly..

If links work correctly.Post SEF options here

Abhijit

500 Internal Server Error depends upon lot of parameters.

Is Joomla Hosted on Windows Server or Linux ?

Check Server log...either Apache or IIS ...Even their must be error_log file in Joomla root directory..

Check error log file for error..

It seems to be any article thats not in a menu. Error messages can be seen below.

Notice: Undefined property: ContentViewArticle::$article in C:\Inetpub\joomla7\templates\intranet\html\com_content\article\form.php on line 7

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\Inetpub\joomla7\templates\intranet\html\com_content\article\form.php on line 7

Many Thanks
Have you updated from 1.6 to 1.7 Joomla recently??

Abhijit
The only joomla errors are related to invalid passwords.

IIS Logs do not show anything related to this particular site..

any other ideas?
With regards to the 1.6 to 1.7.

We were developing a site in 1.5.  We then decided go 1.7.  but didnt migrate anything.  There was so little content that we just re entered it.  Completely new DBs were used etc, so its as good as a fresh install...
This is excerpt from http://www.artisteer.com/?p=news

Joomla
Fixed issues with Flash Countdown Timer module for Joomla 1.5
Fixed “Read More” button navigation for Joomla 1.7
Fixed Print button functionality for Joomla 1.7

So Artisteer Templates before version 3.1 Rc will give those errors.. Try to update Artisteer and update your template..Have you tried any other template...Cause according to error and file path issue is with template...

Also can you please post Read More buttons Link code here...

I have now done this.  It has messed several of my menus up and the link problem still remains...

I am working on getting the menus back but the link issue still remains a mystery
Go to this file templates/your_template/functions.php

Post code from  160 to 175

Abhijit
