Date Field

I have a date field in a query.  How can I display the date field (or a created field) that would drop the day and only show Month and Year such as Sept 2011?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

MyDate: Format(Datefield, "mmm yyyy")

Note that once you do this the value is no longer a date  (it is a string)  .

If you need it to stay as a date then you must do the formatting using the textbox format property where you display the date in a form or report.
In your query, use the following:

SELECT Format(YourDateField, "mm yyyy") As MonthAndYear, etc...

No query is needed.
Adjust the Format property of the field to: mmm yyyy

This influences the display only, not the actual values.
