We received a dell poweredge 2850 server as a donation in my organization. &nbsp;I want to use it for a centos 6 installation, but 2 things are happening that have me stumped:<br />
<br />
1- The raid controller is not allowing the centos installtion to see the hard drives. &nbsp;I configured the array as Raid 5, intialized the logical drive, but still no luck. &nbsp;<br />
<br />
2- BIOS tells me there 2GB of ram, but the machine is only allowing 256M to be used. &nbsp;I have no idea why.<br />

For issue 1, I'd love to be able to get rid of the raid controller and simply use the on-board scsi controllers, if that is possible. &nbsp;I really don't need redundancy on this machine.<br />
<br />
For issue 2, Centos is reporting that there is not enough Ram to install, even though BIOS says there's 2 GB.<br />

Any help is greatly appreciated

Servers are computing devices that are similar to desktop computers in that they have the same basic components, but are significantly different in size, configuration and purpose. Servers are usually accessed over a network, and many run unattended, without a computer monitor, input device, audio hardware or USB interfaces.
