Professional image converter

Hi,
I am looking for a professional image converter that can be used on windows and that is scriptable.
I would like to use it for a DAM system.
Photoshop: not allowed to be used as a server
Imagemagick: extremely slow on large files above 500 MB or 1 GB
Nconvert: does not convert RGB to CMYK, does not support transparency...

thanks

Is getting a program such as Adobe's CQ5 out of the question? What kind of volume do you anticipate working with?

never heard of it. I will google it and get back to you.
am not sure this would do the work. am looking for something simpler.
Are you going to be serving up over a network?
yes. I am looking for something like imagemagick but more professional
I'm not aware of any in between program. There are a number of software packages for DAM systems, but they are, to the best of my knowledge, all big guns. I'll keep looking, and there may be someone else that stumbles on this question that has an answer, however it doesn't look promising.
