Microsoft Dynamics Installation Errors

Good evening,

I had installed MS Dynamics 2011 on my Windows 2008 R2 Server and had some issues which i had to remove the application.

Upon reinstalling the application i am getting the following error (Image attached).

I have tried removing IIS and reinstalling.

I have tried removing IIS, Registry settings, Applications files and reinstalling IIS and Dynamics and still get the same error. We have been having this issue for 6 days now and it is becoming very critical.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Wayne

Michael,

Thanks for trying to help, when I got this error message again today I decided to go to http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7435 and download the urlrewrite application and install it manually. I then clicked retry and dynamics installed successfully.

Thanks again
Wayne

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply,
I have already tried looking in the event-log and strangely enough nothing is in there regarding the failed setup of Dynamics.

Apologies i should have stated this above

Hi Wayne,

did you look in the installation logfile too?

By default the logfile will be saved here: c:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs

Hi Wayne,

some lines I found in the logfile

01:15:00|  Error| Check ConfigDatabaseFilesValidator : Failure: The following databases already exist on the specified SQL Server:
MSCRM_CONFIG

The previous database is already existing. Try to delete or rename.

23:34:33|  Error| Check WebServerValidator : Failure: Setup has detected that the Web site "Microsoft Dynamics CRM" is already using the port that you have selected to install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server. You must specify a unique port to create the new site. If you want Setup to install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server to use this port, you must reconfigure the existing Web site "Microsoft Dynamics CRM" or specify it for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server installation.

Seems that the application is already existing in IIS. Please try to rename or remove the application and the corresponding application pool.

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

Every time i reinstall dynamics i always do the following.
 - Remove the website from IIS
 - Remove the application from IIS
 - Remove the MSCRM_Config and company sql database from SQL
 - Remove the registery keys
 - remove the app from Programs and features
 - Remove the security accounts from SQL
 - Remove the user and security accounts from Active Directory

I will try reinstalling using another port and see if that works as i haven;t tried this.

But I what ever i do i am still getting the same error above.
