Exchange 2010 migration - how can I know if mailboxes are being moved

Hi All,

I am in the process of migrating from SBS 2003 - 2011 with Exch 2010.

I am in the  process of migrating the mailboxes which has gone well for about1/2 the mailboxes, however for the past several hours no mail boxes have change from legacy to user.

either the mailbox it is currently migrating is massive or it has become stuck??

how can I tell?

If it has become stuck, how do I get it going again?

Thanks in advance

You will know they have moved by...

Look at them in the Exchange Management console on the Exchange 2010 server, ( )if the mailbox is listed as "Legacy Mailbox" then its still on the 2003 Server. But to be honest you can view and mailbox's still on the SBS2003 bx by opening the exchange management console on there and drill down to the mailbox stores, any remaining mailboxs will be listed in the left hand windows :)

In Exchange Management Console (Exch2010), go to Recipient Configuration -> Move Request.

Here you can see the properties of each mailbox as it is being moved, with current Status, Percentage, Size and even the log file of what is happening at the time.

Hi Pete,

thanks for the above, I will reword my question.

I am moving 20 mailboxes
10 have become user mailboxes ie they have moved successfully
10 are still listed as legacy and have been for several hours.

is there a way to know if the migration has failed/stopped/become stuck ie is there a way that I can definitely know the migration of the latest mailbox is actually running?
