getting started with sharepoint 2010

Dear Experts:

I was ask to get and administer Sharepoint for our company. It will be for about 20 to 30 users. The site will be between 2 cities. We are 2 offices.

I am new to sharepoint as you can tell. Is there a prefer method of getting this install. Do sharepoint 2010 replicates well between 2 servers one in either city.

How big the server should be? We are not interested in virtualization by the way.

Thanks!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you use SP Foundation 2010 - it is anouth to have 4 GB RAM for sharepoint server
If you plan for sharepoint server 2010 - 8 GB RAM for sharepoint server
Also you need separate SQL server.

If your offices uses one domain / internal network and AD, you dont need to install servers in every sity.

Sharepoint 2010 is available as part of Office 365.   A trial period is available.   This would be your company's private sharepoint sites.
