Mac mail connecting to exchange 2010

Hello.

Seems that basic authentication is required for mac mail to be able to connect and use EWS. I verified my iis settings and basic authentication is right now disabled. I am guessing enabling it in iis only is not the right thing to but to use EMS instead. What are the commands for also enabling basic authentication for this besides windows integrated?

Fyi i am still in exchange 2003-2010 co-existence mode if that matters and i will be for awhile longer and dont want to break anything. Enabling basic wont break anything regarding this i hope? And will it change the owa login to basic?.

Another question: Right now i think i have only configured the internalURL for EWS to remove outlook login problem using command:
Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity ‘exchangeservername\EWS (Default Web site)’ -InternalUrl ‘https://webmail.domain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx’

autodiscover tests work fine as far as i have tested but do i need to also specify external EWS url?

Get-webservicesvirtualdirectory yields right now:

EWS (Default website)     exchangeservername          https://webmail.domain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

Thx for the help in advance.
