I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can disable the schedule of the job.
Or if there is no shcedule, then there must be something that is triggereing the job. Check any manually script or any other job is there which checks whether it is disabled and then triggers it.
You can also check in the history that it was invoked by what.

This is the output I got:
Executed as user: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE. The log shipping primary database servername.databasename has backup threshold of 60 minutes and has not performed a backup log operation for 35026 minutes. Check agent log and logshipping monitor information. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 14420).  NOTE: The step was retried the requested number of times (3) without succeeding.  The step failed.
