Are there any know isuses with running a DC vm and Exchange VM on the same host
(seperate VM's) I don't see why this would be an issue but I thought I read something a while ago of an issue.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I am running it this way and there is no issues. Although I would recommend running redundant server either on another host or physical.

Yes I have two ESXi hosts I just want to move over my exchange server to the same host that my DC vm is on. I also have a physical DC.

There are no issues running DCs and Exchange VMs on the same server.

Just make sure, you never use Snapshots and Rollback a DC, and you time Sync your DC to an External Time Source, and Do Not use VMware Tools to sync with host.

The DS team has a good blog entry on it here:  (also look for part 2)

It's good practice, to keep at least one DC physical, but we know organisations now, that are completely virtual!

After I removed from inventory and added to inventory on the other host when firing it up it ask if I moved it or copied it.   Not sure what to choose?
