how to install driver of Link sys G wireless usb wifi for Back Track 5 on VMware player?

I boot Vmware of BT5 and I enter to the console and I wrote airmon-ng
the wireless wifi not showing,?how to install the driver for it?

If you are using Backtrack as a Virtual Machine in VMware Player  Backtrack will ONLY detect Virtual Machine hardware and not the WiFi card.

So the network interface will be a virtual network interface (E1000 or VMXNET), which is Bridged or NATed to the real physical ethernet card.

I found a youtube vedio, and I am trying to follow the steps:
he download the backtrack 5
he load it into the vmplayer
insure that your wifi usb is there in"virtual machine--->removable devices-->ur wifi"which exists in my case)"linksys
he go to console and he wrote airmon-ng it should shows the wireless.
in my case not showing ,should I install some driver to make my usb wifi exists in the airmon-ng?

if you are using a USB device it may be possible to passthru to the OS.

check in dmesg if the usb device is being detected when inserted.

if not reinstall VMware Player 4.0

First of all you have to make sure your USB wireless card isn't already in use by your Host OS. So if you are using it to connect to the LAN you won't also be able to use it within your VM as a physical device.

Once you are sure it isn't being used in your host OS, start the BT5 VM, and then when the VM is up, got to the VM menu and under "Removable Devices" select the wireless adapter, and select "Connect (Disconnect from Host)". After that, provided the adapter is supported by BT5, it should get available. I would then use the backtrack menu, go to "Exploitation Tools", "Wireless Exploitation Tools", "WLAN Exploitation", and there select "gerix-wifi-cracker-ng", which is a GUI interface for the airodump and aircrack etc utilities. If the Adapter works it should be shown there and you can set it to monitor mode, after which you can use it for your security audit.
