OrclAdminsistration_WebConsole

Does oracle 11g web adminsitration console connect directly to the database server or it goes through a oracle HTTP web server and mod_plsql?

I am windering if there is an HTTP service installed with the database and what ports it uses?

There is actually a webserver running on that port.  Oracle have it packaged up within the database so for all intents and purposes it is not a web server for general use.

Generally it uses an apache server.  The default port is 1158

so this is direct connection from client browser to database box via HTTP (1158)?

I am going to have another VM for oracle HTTP server but this seems to be going directly to database which will will have another web server?

As far as I know there is no https port.  Certainly it is not documented and I don't have an installation where we actually run the webserver to check it out on.

The following link will give you a lot more detail : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/install.111/b28264/ports.htm
