It depends heavily on the methods used for change tracking. There's a very high chance that using two backup solutions will result in incomplete backups for either solution, so I wouldn't recommend it either.

Currently I backup my VMs with Vmware Data Recovery software. We are in process of implementing Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Enviornment and Veeam Backup.<br />
My question is can i backup one VM twice with different software, once with VDR and second with TSM or Veeam. I know that there is CBT(change block tracking) that are used by VDR to backup only changes and what will happen if I backup one VM with both software?
