How do I control the paragraph within a div

Please look at this page, work in progress.

http://rowbytesting.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=127&Itemid=81

Note the "blockquote".  It's enclosed in a div named blockquotePerk

I am trying to style the paragraph text.  But my style is not doing the job.  Attached is the existing relevant css.

I want to control line height, font color, font size, etc.  Right now I only have the line height in the style.  And the height is not working -- that's as far as I got.

Thanks!

Where are you defining this? It looks like you are using joomla, you should declare this style in the template.css file

This particular template which use the Joomla K2 component, uses this as its stylesheet:

http://rowbytesting.com/templates/jbecolift/css/hiliteBlue.css

template.css is also used, but just in a minor way.

I didn't build the site -- just working on a few changes in the css.

Hey..I think I got ur problem..
in css u provided "http://rowbytesting.com/templates/jbecolift/css/hiliteBlue.css" check the lines..

div#blockquotePerk {
      outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-color: #dae7f8; color: #2d3975; padding: 10px; margin: 20px; border: 4px solid #83b2e1; line-height: 24px;
      {

div#blockquotePerk p {
      line-height: 10px;
}

div#blockquotePerk is not ending with a } rather its ending with a { which is root of all errors.. Hence u cant change any style element written after that..

Hope this helps :-)

Thanks!  That certainly was the problem :)

Can you recommend a css editor that warns me when I make an error like that.  Perhaps one that is color coded, or something.

Right now I use crimson editor for css.  It has some color coding that helps warn -- but not for a missing or wrong { or }

Thanks!
