Hi Jonathan,

Can you explain in more detail what text exactly is required to be converted to image?

Unfortunately, it's no longer text when it's saved as a .jpg file. It cannot be edited and enlarging it would make the edges very soft or ragged.

Fortunately, this appears to be Verdana Bold Italic which is a very common font. You can crop off the smaller text at the bottom, expand the canvas to the right and recreate the text using the text tool at whatever size you want.

Be sure to keep a layered copy saved as a Photoshop document that you can refer to later if you want to make more edits.

Well, you must have an graphic editor that enables to you to use a tools that you can use to remove this white area around a black letters.

For example Photoshop that is expensive, or free IrfanView or old MS Photo Editor that is free and best for making a such transparent images.

I'm assuming that you have Photoshop since this question is in the Photoshop zone. In Photoshop, if you have your text in a text layer, you can hide the background layer to make the background transparent. You will see a checkerboard pattern to represent the transparent areas. Just click the eye beside the background layer in the Layers palette.
