How to change passwords periodically


I need to enforce that every users change their login and SVN passwords periodically. How can I do so?

to force user to change his password,

# chage -M 0 username

what does the "0" do?

seem like the password is forced to change every day.

I would like to change it every 30 days. how can i do then?
so you need to change it to 30 instead of 0
