I need a Input Mask on a field in Access 2007

Hi Everyone,

I have a field called Case Number and want this field to allow a maxinum of 10 characters which I have set in my table properties.  However, I want the Input Mask to be set to allow the user to enter a case number like this:  11-51-0001AX

I want the last two characters to accept a number or an alphabetic character.  Sometimes we will have a Case Number 11-51-00001A or 11-51-0000DL or 11-51-0000DN.

The first Two numbers is Last two of the year.  The next two is the County #.

Is this possible with a Input Mask?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can try this:

00-00-0000AA

However, I'd encourage you to NOT allow users to enter this, and instead ask them for information like the Year, County and then buildup the value when you need to show it. It's almost never a good idea to store data like this, since it restricts what you can do in regard to filtering and reporting.
