"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What is the tool? Is there a settings or parameters screen where you can choose different options?
Bill PrewCommented:
Agreed, first choice would be to see if the tool has an "append" setting for the output file.

If not, then one way to work around this would be to rename the prior file (save it) before running the next export, and then use a BAT command or VBS script to merge the two files back together, combining the prior history with the new exported data.

yes the tool has no option.

Also can you help me with the vbs script on merging the two files please?
Bill PrewCommented:
Sure, happy to help.  Can you describe a little bit more how the process works?  How do you run the tool each time, it it via a BAT file, or some other method?  What folder does the output file exist in, and what is it named?  Any other details that might be useful?
