Duplicates

Hello, I am trying to figure out the best way to query duplicate rows for the same product on an invoice. For example, let's say I have an invoice # 001 that has product x with 2 units and product x again with 10 units. So I want to return all the invoices that have the same product twice. I do not want the query to return invoices where we may have product x and product y. Thanks!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

group by InvoiceNo, productCD
having count(1)>1

Hi , try this :

create table #invoice(id int,total money)
create table #details(id int,idproduct int,counts int)

insert into #invoice values(1,100)
insert into #invoice values(2,100)

insert into #details values(1,100,2)
insert into #details values(1,100,10)

insert into #details values(2,100,3)

select i.id,i.total,d.idproduct
from #invoice i inner join
      #details d on i.id = d.id
group by i.id,i.total,d.idproduct
having count(d.idproduct)> 1

In this query, you will have all invoices that have same product on same invoice twice or more times.

Hope this help!
Bye,
Dalsom.

I think it goes like this:

Select * from InvoiceTable i
where exists
(select 1 from InvoiceProductTable p where p.InvoiceFK=i.InvoicePK
   group by p.ProductFK
   having count(*) > 1
)
