cannot access out of office in outlook 2007

When my user tries to access his out of office within outlook 2007 he gets the error message in the screenshot. It states the server is unavaliable although there is no problem with our exchange 2010 server. The out of office works for all our users except for about 10 whom are recieving this message. If they connect via OWA they can access the out of office options fine.

Please advise.

make sure that webservicedirectory is configured properly and you have setup the url for it.

Oh sorry for the delay. happy new year!!!

I did look into the fixes but didnt get a chance to implement before christmas. I will endeavour to get this done today and update this question.

I am very sorry. I got very busy on the day I was supposed to look into this and have been on external site visits since. As soon as one of my colleagues gets in I will update the post after testing the resolutions.

Hi Shivkumar and akicute555,

I am very confused by the solutions provided. As I understand I may need to change the URL for OOF to point to the same location as in a pc that the OOF is working  fine.

I have held ctrl and run the “test email configuration utility” from a pc where the OOF is working fine. I have run a test for “use autodiscover” and now have displayed the OOF URL for RPC and HTTP.

I have run the same utility on a pc where OOF is not working and receive the message that “auto-configuration was unable to determine  your  settings!”

Not sure where to go from here. Please advise.

I created a new profile for the user and its working fine now. I would prefer a quicker fix but will do the same for my other users.
