I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

C#/ASP.NET
What I want is:
<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ValidationExpression="(?!^[0-9]*$)(?!^[a-zA-Z]*$)^([a-zA-Z0-9]{8,})$"
                                    ID="RegularExpressionValidator2" runat="server"
                                    ErrorMessage="Error: please reselect it" ControlToValidate="Password"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator>

It is my current code for the conditions:
Must be a minimum of 8 (eight) characters.
Must contain one letter and one number.
Must contain upper and lower case letters.
May not contain special characters (i.e. ~ ! @ # $ ( [ > , and so on).

Because I want to change the last one as:

Must contain at least special characters (i.e. ~ ! @ # $ ( [ > , and so on)

Open in new window

So can you please modify the expression?

ozo's pattern is what you want, but I've filled in the special characters for you and put it into code - try this:
<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ValidationExpression="^(?=.{8})(?=.*[A-Z])(?=.*[a-z])(?=.*\d)(?=.*[~!@#$%\^&*()`\-=\[\]{}\\|;:'\",./<>?])"
                                    ID="RegularExpressionValidator2" runat="server"
                                    ErrorMessage="Error: please reselect it" ControlToValidate="Password"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator>
