iPad Development

I understand that iPad development can be done using a simulator on a Mac.

I am NOT an Apple person. I have a LOT of development experience as a web developer & with databases.

I understand that Objective C or something called Monotouch can be used for development. Is that correct?

What are the specs (minimum requirements) for a Mac needed for development?

Thanks

Hi rkorts,

The SDK for iOS development (and thus the emulator) only exists for the Mac.  You can work in a variety of frameworks of which Objective C and Monospace are examples.

However, you don't need a huge machine to run it.  So long as you have the most up to date OS (Lion, I believe), you should be set.

I'm buying a Mac Mini as a second machine just to handle Dev tasks.  Base model with extra RAM only.
