Simple book formatting for the web

Hi, experts,

I want to publish my book on programming (namely, Hadoop) on the web, for all to use. What is a good publishing method? Should I use html with css? If so, should I use something like this, http://hbase.apache.org/book.html?

I know a little Joomla, but this looks a little complex, and besides it will lock me into a specific format. If I want to put the content onto another site, and they use something else, it might be a problem.

Then you can use Desktop Software to design Ebook and Export it as HTML or for WEB

Actually, your discussion is helpful, even though the other way around: since the main value of the book would be the text and pictures, and not the format, then I should not be looking at fancy complex tools (besides, I work in Linux), but only for the simplest possible format, like html with css.

However, I thought that there is some tool to help me with this, and it seems like there is none.
