Restoring QuickBooks

Hello,

I need to restore a quickbooks file using Windows Server Backup. (This is not a backup done through QB.

Do I need to restore any other files besides the .qbw file? (I read something about a .tlg file)

Thank you,

Flynn

The .TLG is the Transaction Log File, it would need to be restored as well.  I would recommend doing regular backups from within quickbooks as well as just backing up the files in the future.

Since you are restoring the QBW file, you should make a temporary local copy, open the copy with QuickBooks and run a verify/rebuild. If it needs rebuilding, copy the rebuilt file into the production space. Once rebuilt, it will create a new TLG file, so keep the old one in a safe folder until you know all is well. Do not try to copy or restore ND files or DSN files. These do not copy and will be created automatically.
