Cheap VPS failover protection

Hi All,

I run a very small IT business, that has around 100 customer websites and emails.

Last night the VPS i run the services on had a SAN issue, so everything went down.

I've spoke to a few of my customers and they accept these things can happen.  However they would like me to cost up failover options.

what are your suggestions?

my current VPS runs CentOS, MySQL, PHP, DNS, POSTFIX

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would Suggest you to take a look at proxmox,

It is a virtualization platform. With many features, well priced (its free). With it you cave many options to give higher availability .

You can send over your own server/servers and get it colocated at the same data center, you can have one or many  vps running ( I recomend spliting on sets of 30 per customer) so this wouldnot repeat (or the effect will be smalle) ,

or you can try the proxmox beta version , which has HA (high availability included).

pve.proxmox.com.

It is a fine option to grow your business, you will own a physical server and will prepare for new customers, and you can leverage the cost of the server charging a small amount to each customer.
