creating RAID1 in XenServer 6

Hi Guys,

i got a server with 4*  500GB disks, 2 disks are in hardware RAID controller, and RAID1 was configured.

I have installed XenServer in Hardware RAID1 pair, now i need to configure software RAID1 on another pair (2 disks -SATA)

I am new to command line and Linux, could you please provide the instructions

when i google it, most of the posts i found were showing how to boot partition also in RAID which i don't want, i just need to configure additional 2 disks in RAID

Hello Moonatwork,  I've got no disks available to test this procedure for you but I think it is exactly what you want.

Assuming your hardware raid device is /dev/sda you should have a /dev/sdb and a /dev/sdc that you want configured as software raid (LVM). In case your device names are different, make sure you get the names right before you start with fdisk etc.

Here I have attached step by step software RAID 1 configuration doc . Plz  find the attached file in detail.

but I found that Software RAID won't support by Xen Server
