asked on

how to delete system error memory dump files (Kernel memory dump)?

Win 7 OS SSD 64MB
I want to max. free space on my SSD.
The memory dump file will not delete via
disk clean program.
The size of dump file is 505 MB.
I try over & over to delete.

Please state flow correction steps as
I am not totally familiar with all procedures,
or I would not be asking this question.

I am comfortable un-hiding folders and deleting what
I'm instructed to do;
but need to follow instructions exactly, as I'm 71 yrs. young.
I'll provide more data on my system if asked.

Thanks,
Jim

AustinComputerLabs:

I used your procedure to successful effect.
The simple solution of the three.

I'm asking for an answer before I close with awarding points.
The selection of Memory dump files is now ABSENT from the disk cleanup
Program. Will it appear in the future if there is an error (crash) report?
I do try to look & understand such infrequent reports, so I do want
that category to post again in the future.
Thanks,
Jim
Yes, if you have another crash and a dump file is created you will have that as a disk cleanup option.
Awarded some points for suggested websites that I bookmarked for future reference. Advice from other Experts was right on I suppose , but I chose the easiest solution to pursue. Thanks all,
Jim
