Mobile Devices and Parental Controls

My child is still young but is old enough to play with iPad's, iTouch's and Computers.  Is there a way I can monitor the internet, email and instant messaging activity of my child when he she uses a PC, MAC, iPad or iTouch?  The iTouch is the device she uses most often.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you are connecting to a home router/firewall, I would recommend utilizing OpenDNS as a static DNS server instead of your ISP.  When you sign up for a free account, you can restrict certain categories of websites from being browsed on your network.  OpenDNS also allows you to view what is being accessed in terms of content and sites visited.  As hax1 stated, training your child where to go and where not to go.
