Outlook not change after configuring exchange 2010 CAS Array

Dear All,

I was having one exchange 2010 server hosting all users mailboxes.

Recently, I install another two exchange 2010 server, the total now is 3. Each server host all rules (MB/HUB/CAS/UM).

Hardware load balancer is there.

DAG has been configured and working fine.

What I notes that; still the users are connecting to the first exchange server, the outlook didn’t change the server to the CAS array which I configure.

I totally done everything, CAS array configured, databases add to the CAS array and everything is ok.

Is there any solution? Do I have to use script?

Please help

i did that, the the problem related to the outlook more than the exchange

yes, i run it for current databases.

client is connected and working, but the outlook connected to the ex1.... not to the cas array.

Please restart the active server and try reopening outlook.

Did you create DNS A record “mail.school.edu" pointing to the load balancing IP?

Check out this solutions:

1- If you have a few users so try to do an Outlook Profile Repair to get the updated change.

2- Remove the "Host A" record from the internal DNS for the old Exchange 2010 server "Ex2010.domain.local" and the Outlook clients should do a full re-autodiscover and attach to the new CAS array "CASArray01.domain.local" automatically.

This however is generally impractical especially when you want to stage your mailbox move slowly instead of attempt the big bang approach where all mailboxes are moved in one hit. For small server migrations this is a workable solution.

3- Create a PRF (Outlook Profile) configuration file to automatically update Outlook to point to the new server. You will need to script this out to ensure it automatically runs on all workstations.

Before restart make sure you have healthy copies of mailbox databases in other servers.

Test one user by create a new profile and use CAS array name when you do start configuration.  Also make sure that your auto discover is configured OK if auto discover is not configured then clients will continue to connect with old settings. I'll advice you configure all your CAS server with auto discover settings and test them one by one on http://testexchangeconnectivity.com
