first you need to be assigned permissions before you can perform this procedure.

In the console tree, navigate to Organization Configuration > Mailbox.
In the result pane, select the mailbox database for which you want to change the default public folder database.
In the action pane, under the mailbox database name, click Properties.
In <Mailbox Database Name> Properties, click the Client Settings tab.
Next to the Default public folder database box, click Browse.
In Select Public Folder Database, select the public folder database from the list of public folder databases, and then click OK.
Click OK.

try :

Open Adsiedit.msc from run command
2. Navigate to your configuration container 3. Expand to services, Microsoft Exchange, your org name, admin groups, servers, locate your FE server, expand, Expand information store, and storage group that houses your public folder store. On the right pane, delete the public folder store.

its dead but still exist on Active directory , you need to remove it , its orphan so you need to remove it  , sir listen to me or not ,you have to go to Active Directory Site and services -> view -> show service node ->  go to srvice node -> browse for microsoft exchange -> first organization -> exchange administrative group -> Folder Hierarchies -> remove public folder node-> go to ELC Folders Container
then delete any existing public folder nodes.  , search for other locations of public folder

wish to you good luck

nothing related to Public folder in ADSIEdit or in AD site & services.

if you want to help, please focus of how to change the attribute from ADSIEdit, from there we can remove it, i'm sure, but i couldn't remember from where exactly.
