How to setup DHCP to assign the correct IP segement to Windows XP Mode - Virtual Machine

Windows 2003 - Standard server - DHCP:
DHCP IP Range:  192.168.0.50 - 200
Default Gateway:  192.168.0.5

On the Windows XP Virtual Machine:
IP Address:  192.168.131.65
Default Gateway:  192.168.131.254

Why is the Windows XP virtual computer being assigned a different IP segment?
a.  Is the Windows 7 computer assigning the virtual machine the IP address, even though I successfully joined the network?

I am running Windows 7 Professional. I installed XP mode and am using DHCP however the IP it chooses is incorrect.

My NIC displays as Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller under Windows 7, but as Intel 21140-Based PCI Fast Ehternet Adapter (Generic) when I'm in XP mode

Solution:  changed the virtual network mode from NAT to Bridge Mode

To change this configuration, the Settings dialog box shown in Fig. 1 can be accessed using ‘Settings’ option under ‘Tools’ element from the VM Window’s toolbar. When you click on the ‘Networking’ setting, you will find the following four options to choose from:
