I would like to flush dns on each user when they login. Can I do this from their login script without causing any issues? desktops are win xp and win 7, all users are local admins

The first thing that comes to mind is "why?". Second thought is that it is better to adjust the client DNS cache settings. You can reduce the amount of time the DNS client caches, or turn it off completely.

Finally, you could run "ipconfig /flushdns" in a login script, but it will fail for Windows 7 users when UAC is enabled. I recommend that you keep UAC on, and fix the issue instead of significantly weakening the security of the workstation.
