Sharepoint opens OQY file in browser instead of prompting to open/download

Hello all,
I have OQY (Excel OLAP Query) files on our Sharepoint site.  When a user clicks to open the file, it opens as plain text in the browser.  I would like the browser to prompt the user to download or open the file; the same way most files behave when downloaded

We use Sharepoint Foundation 2010, on Windows 2008 R2 Standard IIS7, using Internet 8 or 9 on Windows 7 desktops.

any help is appreciated :)

You'll need to adjust the MIME type settings in IIS for the site (or globally at a server level). If you just want them to download the file, set the mime type for .oqy as application/octet-stream

Thanks for your help brwwiggins I've got it working now

I couldn't get it to work after adding the mime type application/octet-stream.

With some experimenting I tried using a dumby type "a/b" which worked after restarting the www service and clearing my browser's cache.  It is messy but its the only way I can get it to work!

thanks again
