P2P Replication. Subscription has been marked Inactive

Dear Experts,

We are running a P2P replication between 2 SQl servers for a single database. Recently one of the subscriptions has been marked inactive. I dont know the exact reason as to why it has been marked inactive. From googling it I have found that the only way to make the subscription active is to Re-initialize the subscription. But the problem is that P2P replications cannot be re-initialized. What do I do? How do I get the subscription to start again. Please see attached screenshot.

Thanks.

Have you tried doing as the error message suggests: drop the subscription and re-create? Since you cannot re-initialize, it would make sense that you would have to completely rebuild to attain the same result.

What error are you seeing in replication monitor? also check the distributor job and its error log.

Hi,

Based on my experieince with normal replication, unless the initial sync or whatever is going to take forever (say three weeks) or there are a whole heap of unusual contraints/filters/whatever, just drop it and recreate it.
