I have windows 2008 server to which I can remote using RDP from my workstation [windows 7].<br />
I can type either hostname or IP address of the remote server and remote using RDP with no problem.<br />
But from within the same workstation if I ping the same remote server by IP address or hostname the request times out [no ping replies].<br />

Any idea why this is happening?<br />
