Active Directory Sync for Dummies

I have 2 Domain Controllers with AD and DNS on them. I need to verify if they are syncing the databases and if not how to troubleshoot? I need to make sure both are working properly?

I would suggest to run these checks on one of them in command-line

dcdiag /e /c /v >c:\dcdiag.log
repadmin /showrepl /all /verbose >c:\repadmin1.log
repadmin /replsummary >c:\repadmin2.log

and if it's W2K8R2 then I would also check Active Directory Best Practices Analyzer

One quit way to check for replication of DNS would be to add a reverse lookup zone if you didn't configure it initially on one DNS server and check the other DNS server later after replication has processed.

Troubleshooting wise, make sure you have all the correct networks configured in ad sites and services to start with.
