botton positioned div

Is there a way to force a div to float to the bottom of another div. I need the footer info on this page

http://arnoldlehrerproperties.businesscatalyst.com/available_units.htm  <div id="footer">
Arnold Lehrer Properties | Serving Yale with Quality Landlording

to be at the absolute bottom of the div is resides within? I've seen a number of suggestions so far, but none have worked and am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tin

in the CSS

#footer {position:absolute; bottom:0px}

However if the containing div does not have position:relative.  or does not contain enough data to extend to the bottom it won't work.

In that case take the footer out of the div and put it in the body with a style of:

#footer {position:fixed; bottom:0px}

wouldn't that make the footer exist outside of my content area?

The fixed position would but the absolute positioned version is still in side the div.

Though it is likely I did something wrong, that didn't seem to work. http://arnoldlehrerproperties.businesscatalyst.com/available_units.htm

Well I don't see any styling on the footer, and it is in a span which cannot be positioned because it is an inline element.  The footer has to be in a div and has to be styled.

you have this styling on the footer:
#footer{
	text-align: center;
	float:right;
	margin:12px 24px 12px 24px;
	width:626px;
	font-size:11px;
	}

Open in new window

That will not position it.
Change it to:
#footer{
	text-align: center;
        position:absolute;
        bottom:0px
	margin:12px 24px 12px 24px;
	width:626px;
	font-size:11px;
	}

Open in new window

Then we have some chance it will work.

I reverted back as it wasn't displaying properly otherwise. Thanks for your help though.
