Run a Local Web Server to Host Web Apps

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to host web pages on my local PC. I have tried WAMP but this doesn't work for .aspx extensions and i haven't found a way to add this extension. Its designed for php.

I am creating my pages in visual studio 2010 which does come with its own built in web hosting app but i want to run my pages outside of this the reason being is that it will not build if i have the command console.log in my code (this is a logging line for the debugging tools in firebug and chromes dev tools).

I want to be able to use these tools to write my jquery scripts.

So, now understanding my im trying to do this, can anyone suggest any tools to do the trick?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

WAMP (http://www.wampserver.com/en/) is another alternative that I use to develop with Apache, PHP and various databases. It's really easy to use but is only for Windows. it is use for local development, there are about 30 different local websites and applications on it

also like Microsoft's WebMatrix for web dev. Very slick piece of software :)

Hope this helps!
