What is the best & reasonably priced router for VOIP Quality Of Service Control?
Hi,
We have 6 VOIP phones and are experiencing frequent packet loss which results in some conversations sounding like a cell phone with bad reception. Our VOIP provider is trying to sell us a managed switch for around $700. Is there a reasonably priced router that we can purchase that will provide adequate VOIP Quality of Service? Right now we do not have a router in place and have been advised to get one.
Thanks

The Juniper SRX line provides many routing features as well as security. On the low-end is the SRX100 which I believe can be had for a few hundred dollars. These aren't as cheap as something like a linksys or netgear, but it's a high quality piece of equipment that runs the same JUNOS OS that their high end routers run with many of the same features.

Our VOIP carrier 8x8 is recommending the D-Link DIR 655 router for $99. I've never had good experience with D-Link, but am looking for something in the same price range to try out. Would you have any other recommendations that are priced between $100 - $150?
Thanks
