IM program over local network?

I'm looking to set up a small IM program to use over our office network.
Someone recommended using Spark and OpenFire.
Can anyone tell me how to go about setting it up?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I installed fomine LAN Chat, and it seems to be working. My question is - how do I set up different user names for the different computers, so I know to whom I am sending the message?
