This CPU is not supported by this model...

I have white box computer that has recently started displaying the below message.  I can press F1 and all is well.  I've downloaded the latest BIOS update but I don't know how to install it.  The motherboard model number is M4A78LT-m LE.  The CPU is a amd phenom ii x4 945.

You can usually(now a days) install it from within windows or from a floppy,thumb drive etc. make sure to read instructions!!!!! Try resetting bios defaults.. If possible use a UPS..

I was able to update the BIOS.  This was done using a utility within the BIOS itself.  This did not fix my issue though.
