Try a fresh install of Ubuntu 32-bit and see if it works differently. I have Ubuntu 32-bit with VMware Workstation 8 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and it works fine. The purpose of this test is to see whether the problem above is a guest problem or a host problem. <br />
