Whcih XenApp Exam?

Hi,

I've installed Citrix 4.0 and 4.1 presentation server in the past in the production. Also, I've spent 12-15 hrs of training in the virtual lab installing XenApp 5 and successfully installed in the Lab few times over.  But, I have yet to touch XenApp 6.

I'm very keen to take the XenApp 5 certification right away knowing I can confidently install it in the Prod environment?  Should I take the  XenApp 5 exam then XenApp 6 thoroughly, then take XenApp 6 exam?

Or should I not bother with XenApp 5 exam, but focus on attaining XenApp 6 exam?

Or should I take them both, one after the other?

Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks a lot.

CCA for xenapp 6 is already out so better you take xenapp6. if you take xenapp5 you will have to upgrade to 6 at a later time. so I would prefer to take 6

Is there pre-requisite for XenApp 6 exam?

Do you also know the main difference between XenApp 5 and XenApp6 in term of functionalities?

There are a lot of differences between xenapp 5 and xenapp 6.x.  I recommend you become very familiar with edocs.  That is where citrix is moving all the main product informatio.

Hi CarlWebster,

Should I just not bother with Citrix XenApp5 exam INSTEAD become very familiar with XenApp 6, then take the XenApp 6 exam? Appreciate your advice mate.

Cheers

Thanks Carl.

How much difference between XenApp 6 and XenApp 6.5? When does the XenApp 6.5 exam be released, do you know?

You can email some tip for the exam, only if you are interested let me know....just kidding.

Thanks for taking time to answer my basic questions....appreciate it.
Quite a bit of difference between XenApp 6.0 and XenApp 6.5.  Start here:

http://www.citrix.com/English/ps2/products/feature.asp?contentID=2316931

6.5 exams are scheduled for release I think in either Feb or March.
A small list of what's new:

In Application Streaming:
  Mounted VHD files
  CHanges to the AppHub Whitelist
  FIPS and legacy support

Desktop Director

Load Evaluators for Worker Groups can be assigned via a Citrix policy
Logon Control
Disconnected Session Sharing
Session Lingering
Session Pre-Launch
Fast Reconnect

Changes made via AD policy for provisioning XenApp 6.5 servers

A XenApp 6.5 server now has two modes.  One mode can be a data collector and host sessions.  The other mode is for hosting sessions only.  That means not all XenApp 6.5 servers can be a data collector.

If you want any details, you will have to look them up on eDocs and play with them in your lab.  That is what preparing for certification exams is all about! :)
Thanks Guru
