I think you should really do the following courses:

CITM Certified IT Manager and CITD Certified IT Director - they are run in many parts of the world and accredited by The ICOR

Being a good IT Manager:
A: Takes time and practice
B: There is no one resource that is going to give you everything you need.
C: Any and all resources you can get your hands on will be helpful (management courses, seminars, webinars, e-books, etc.)
D: Be a very good IT person first, you have to be the best in order to lead the rest of course there will always be those who know more than you but that is a fact we have to accept.

Lastly, go out there and make it happen, no one can definitvely tell you how to be a good IT Manager, you have to go do it, make mistakes, correct your mistakes and move on and draw upon former managers you have worked for and respected.
There is a lot more to being a good manager than just being a good IT guy.
