Outlook 2007 - GAL is missing a column for a user

Hello experts,

I have a user, who for some reason, when they now open their GAL to search for users, do not see the Name column. All other columns are there. Other users do not seem to be experiencing the same issue so I can only guess this is a local client issue.

Is there any way of getting the Name column to show again?

We are using Outlook 2007 with a 2007 back end.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried rebuilding the GAL to see if that resolves the Issue?

You can not change the columns at the top (as far as I know) but you can resize them.
If you resize 'name' until it is very small it becomes invisable.

Open the address book and hover the mouse to the left hand side of 'title' or whatever the first row is.
If it turns into the double line for moving the bar click on move to the right.  Name should come back.
If not - check to the right (move the scroll bar at the bottom) to see if they have move it over that way.

The name columb is just shrinked and is not appearing. Open the GAL and move your mouse at the far left of the column names (left edge of the "Bussiness Phone" column) where the cursor turns to to arrows pointing left and right in a cross and then click and drag to the right.

Thank you experts for your speedy response. Absolutely spot on - The user had inadvertantly shrunk the column width.
Please accept a sharing of the points.

Try to delete the current profile and create a new profile as mentioned above by sekarc4u.

If this doesnt work then search for this three files namely extend.dat, outcmd.dat and  frmcache.dat and either rename them or delete them. Close outlook program and open it again. in your search tick the option for hidden files.
